Viktor Gyokeres

Gyokeres is closing in on a comeback after four weeks out with a hamstring injury.

The £64million summer signing has not played since he was forced off at Burnley on November 1 but Mikel Arteta this week issued a positive update on his return to fitness.

Gyokeres was not training with the Arsenal squad before the Bayern Munich game but Arteta has suggested the striker is not far away.

Asked about Gyokeres and Havertz, Arteta said on Tuesday: "Really good, both of them.

Potential return date: Sunday November 30, vs Chelsea (A)

Leandro Trossard

Trossard handed Arsenal an injury worry when he was forced off against Bayern.

The in-form forward, who scored the first goal in last weekend’s 4-1 win against Tottenham, had to be substituted after 38 minutes with what appeared to be a calf injury.

Trossard went straight down the tunnel after limping off and was replaced by Noni Madueke, who went on to score his first Arsenal goal.

Arteta said after the game: “With Leo, we don’t know [the extent of the injury]. He said he felt something. We didn’t want to take any risks, obviously.”

Potential return date: Unknown

Kai Havertz

Havertz is also nearing a return, having not played since the opening weekend of the season after a minor procedure on a knee injury.

Germany boss Julian Nagelsmann said in the recent international break that Havertz had suffered a “minor relapse” in his recovery, but Arteta has allayed fears of any major setback.

Like Gyokeres, Havertz did not train with the Arsenal squad at the start of the week.

But he is pushing to return against former club Chelsea in Sunday’s top-of-the-table clash at Stamford Bridge.

Gabriel

Arsenal have been sweating on the fitness of Gabriel since he suffered an adductor injury while playing for Brazil at Emirates Stadium during the international break.

There have been reports that Gabriel could be out until January but Arteta confirmed this week that the centre-back was due for another scan on Wednesday, when Arsenal would know more about an exact timeframe.

Arteta is due to provide an update on Gabriel on Friday when he holds his press conference ahead of the Chelsea game.

Gabriel Jesus

Gabriel Jesus is closing in on a comeback after nearly a year out with a serious knee injury.

Jesus has not played since rupturing his anterior cruciate ligament in January but he is back in full training and is set to return soon.

The striker could play in a behind-closed-doors friendly as he steps up his recovery and Arteta said last week: “[He is doing] very good.

“He is doing everything with the team at the moment, for the last almost two weeks.

“We are going to give him some exposure internally with some games, so he gets that fitness. But he looks really good in training and he is going to be a big addition to the team.”
