Arsenal midfielder Eberechi Eze has named former Chelsea winger Eden Hazard as his ‘favourite player’.
Eze was discussing his role models to the Beast Mode On podcast with Adebayo Akinfenwa and opened up on his admiration for Hazard.
The latter was recently inducted into the Premier League Hall of Fame, in recognition of his seven seasons at Chelsea.
Hazard scored 110 goals and provided 92 assists in 352 games for the Blues, winning a wealth of honours that includes two Premier League titles and the 2014/15 PFA Player of the Year award.
Eze named Hazard as his favourite player to watch growing up, praising the Belgian for ‘expressing himself’ on the pitch.
“Eden Hazard was my favourite player to watch. You had Dinho (Ronaldinho), Neymar (Lionel) Messi, (Cristiano) Ronaldo… these guys, you know. Eden Hazard, man.”
Asked what made Hazard his number one role model, Eze added: “Freedom. Freedom. Freedom. He done what he thought was the right thing in that moment.
“He’s not thinking, he’s just expressing himself. And you can tell he enjoys…he enjoyed being effective as a player, but also his style of playing football. So, yeah, for me, that’s my guy.”
