Mikel Arteta has backed Martin Zubimendi to bounce back from his costly mistake against Manchester United.
The Spaniard gave the ball away for United’s equaliser as the Gunners fell to a 3-2 home defeat.
Zubimendi has played in every Premier League game this season after signing from Real Sociedad in the summer.
But Arteta insists he is not feeling the effect of playing so many games and is ready to bounce back.
“I wouldn’t put the error that we had with Zubi down to the minutes because imagine he scores the first header and we win 1-0,” the Arsenal boss said. “Then, is he tired or no?
“At the end, it’s not about that. Martin was fresh and he was really conscious about making a mistake that cost us a goal.
“But it’s part of football. I played there and made mistakes. If you want to play the way we play, those are mistakes that are part of our game.”
