Mikel Arteta wants Arsenal to embrace the pressure of the Premier League title race, ahead of facing Wolves this evening.
Arsenal travel to face the Premier League's bottom side in a vital game for their title hopes. The North Londoners can extend their advantage overManchester City to seven points, having played a game more, with a win at Molineux.
Arsenal have won just two of their last six games in the Premier League, a run that has allowed Manchester City to close the gap.
Pressure is beginning to build on thePremier League leaders, who have ended each of the last three seasons as runners-up. However, Arteta is confident his team can get over the line, insisting that hard work on the training ground is the foundation of their title belief.
"The position that we are in is a privilege and we take it because we have earned it," Arteta said at hispre-game press conference.
"For so long, seven and a half months is a long time to, every single day, do the rights things and perform at the level that we are performing to get where we are, so we need to embrace that.
"Tomorrow we know we’re gonna play a really difficult match against them, our recent past with them showed how tough it was to actually win the three points. I know Rob really well and how he sets his teams out and it’s going to be a tough test.
"They have given me the confidence with what we've done up to now, every single day, and the biggest reassurance in every competition, the manner we've done it, with all the challenges that we've faced already, gives me confidence because it's the way we prepare.
"I don't get the confidence for the things that I imagine, for the things that I see every day and the preparation and how much the players want it. We are where we want to be, that's for sure."
