Grêmio will be without midfielders Arthur and Leo Pérez for Thursday’s 21:30 kick-off against Palmeiras at Arena Barueri.
According to Globo.com, Noriega, Tiaguinho and Balbuena are available for selection.
Leo Pérez has a right adductor injury and will miss two to three weeks. The Argentine had started the last two matches and was in line for a third.
Noriega came on in Peru’s draw with Honduras on Tuesday and will join the squad in São Paulo. Having played one half in that friendly, he could start. Tiaguinho was with Brazil under-20s but did not feature in Tuesday’s win over Paraguay, and is another option.
Balbuena also returns from Paraguay to rejoin the group.
The returning internationals matter because Arthur has muscle discomfort and has missed training since the squad reconvened. The captain had only just returned from injury in the defeat to Vasco before the break. Youngster Zórtea is expected to be included.
Grêmio are already without Marlon after right ankle surgery and Caio Paulista, who is on loan from Palmeiras. Left-back Pedro Gabriel will start.
A probable line-up is Weverton, Pavon, Gustavo Martins, Viery and Pedro Gabriel, Noriega, Dodi or Tiaguinho, Nardoni, Monsalve, Enamorado and Amuzu, with Carlos Vinicius up front.
Grêmio travel to São Paulo on Wednesday afternoon. The club will confirm the squad list at 21:00 on Wednesday.
