AS Monaco set for loan move with option to buy for Wout Faes | OneFootball

Wout Faes is set to join AS Monaco on loan with an option to buy after travelling to the Principality.

According to Nice-Matin, the 27-year-old spent Tuesday 13 January at La Turbie and inside the Stade Louis-II, with a medical planned and head coach Sébastien Pocognoli counting on him for Friday’s home game against Lorient at 19:00.

The Belgium international was accompanied by a member of the player care department as he completed the formalities linked to his arrival, and was due to undergo his medical that morning.

Faes has played 135 matches for Leicester since 2022, with the club now in England’s second tier, but he has not featured since 29 November.

His place in the Belgium squad has been under threat since Rudi Garcia took charge of the Red Devils.

A move to Monaco should help him rebuild his standing ahead of the World Cup.
