Atletico Madrid have entered the race with AC Milan for Lazio centre-back Mario Gila, with AS reporting the Spanish club are keeping tabs and could act if Clement Lenglet or Jose Gimenez leaves this summer.

La Gazzetta dello Sport reports Milan discussed the 25-year-old Barcelona native in a meeting between head coach Max Allegri and CEO Giorgio Furlani. Bayern Munich’s Kim Min-jae was cited as the alternative. A switch would reunite him with former Lazio sporting director Igli Tare, who signed him in 2022.

His contract runs to June 2027 and there have been no renewal talks, so all signs point to a summer exit.

Inter Milan have also shortlisted Gila.

Any sale is unlikely to yield a major profit for Lazio given his contract situation and Real Madrid’s 50% sell-on clause.

Milan are reportedly aiming for a €15 million deal, which would leave the Biancocelesti with €7.5 million.
