Chelsea have an exciting new manager in place for next season, but that’s not doing much to change their current situation. Out of European football entirely and on the back of another disappointing season, there are a lot of players quite reasonably questioning their future with the Blues.

Things line up perfectly for a Cucurella move to Atletico

One of those players is Marc Cucurella, who has reached a crucial juncture now he has just two years left to run on his contract. According to Spanish football paper Marca, he’s now a top target for Atletico Madrid, who see left back

It’s easy to imagine Cucurella fitting into Diego Simeone’s team. And Chelsea will be willing to sell given his contract situation. To us this one really feels like it could happen, it’s just a question of finding a fee that works for both clubs.

It puts Chelsea back into the market for a left back, but we can worry about that further down the line.
