A few months into the new season, Barcelona have already experienced some familiar problems, including an apparent injury crisis and, most importantly, refereeing inconsistency.
This was evident in Barcelona’s recent win over Girona, where the referee Gil Manzano made some questionable decisions that should have otherwise favoured the Blaugrana.
According to El Chiringuito, there is a concern emerging within the Barcelona camp in the wake of recent refereeing calls.
The club believe they cannot win the league if the problem persists, as they are not only limited to their own games but are also reflected in other games as well.
For example, the Real Madrid game saw the expulsion of not one but two Getafe players – a call that Barcelona believe favoured Los Blancos.

The two players in question are Allan Nyom and Alex Sancris. Barcelona believe the calls were soft and the referee did not necessarily have to send them off.
Examples can be taken from Barcelona’s own games as well. During the game against Girona, Marcus Rashford was notably not given a penalty and was instead penalised despite being fouled inside the box.
A more telling event was when Hansi Flick was given back-to-back yellow cards late in the game, causing the referee to send him off.
The German is now set to miss the upcoming clash against Real Madrid, thus giving Los Blancos a major boost.
All of these factors have played into the hands of Real Madrid, prompting Barcelona to believe that it will be difficult to win the league, at least under current circumstances.
