A shaky performance ends in victory for FC Barcelona. Despite being at home against a Girona side that has not been particularly impressive this season, this win took a lot out of the team.

Ultimately, however, that 2-1 victory at home is one that the Catalan giants will celebrate. Goals from Pedri and Ronald Araujo made this possible, but there are other players worth talking about as well.

Here are the player ratings for Hansi Flick’s team.

Barcelona Player Ratings vs Girona:

Wojciech Szczesny: 6.5/10

Made a crucial save, and was not really at fault for much of what went wrong in this game. Decent enough with his passing, and good enough in terms of commanding his box.

Jules Kounde: 5.0/10

More or less absurd, this entire game. Moved like a brick and was way too sluggish as well. He has been in poor form recently, and Hansi Flick seriously needs to reconsider his starting role.

Pau Cubarsi: 7.5/10

Made some good passes in between the lines and linked up well with the rest of his teammates. Unfortunately, however, he did struggle a lot in terms of communicating the high line with the rest of his teammates, and it created some real issues for Barça. Should have had a goal to his name, but it was disallowed for some reason.

Eric Garcia: 7.5/10

A solid performance from the Spaniard, who went into every challenge with the right kind of tenacity. It even helped Barça score a goal through Pau Cubarsi, but that was chalked off for some reason that Gil Manzano knows more about.

Alejandro Balde: 6.0/10

Extremely restricted in this game, and hardly had the freedom to venture forward. However, it has to be said that he did not even dare to dribble past his marker for most of the game, which was frustrating to see at times.

Marc Casado: 8.0/10

A true warrior in the midfield, Marc Casado put in a real shift in this game. Tracking back and forth throughout the match, it made sense as to why he looked so exhausted near the end.

Frenkie de Jong: 8.5/10

Had a great game from start to finish and ended up providing the decisive assist to win the game, not long after renewing his contract. Poetic.

Pedri: 9.0/10

Undeniably, the best Barcelona player on the pitch today, and his performance warranted a bigger effort from his teammates. Scored a sensational goal with his trademark magic and elegance

Lamine Yamal: 7.0/10

Showed glimpses, but was quite underwhelming for much of the game. Either overdid what he needed to do or simply did not make the right decisions. Definitely does not look fully ready just yet. Managed to get an assist, but that was more due to Pedri’s magic.

Toni Fernandez: 6.0/10

Looked eager to make an impact and had a few positive link-up plays with his teammates. Beyond that, he was not able to influence the game much.

Marcus Rashford: 6.5/10

Not his best performance, but one where he came close to making a difference on quite a few occasions. Still, he also made some poor decisions every now and then.

Fermin Lopez: 7.0/10

Exciting to watch, and was eager to make an impact all throughout the game after he was introduced. He was also willing to take shots whenever he was presented with the opportunity, which was a welcome introduction.

Andreas Christensen: 6.5/10

Extremely comfortable on the ball and did well during his time in this game.

Roony Bardghji: 6.5/10

His dribbling and ability to lure defenders ended up paying off for Barça as his pre-assist enabled Frenkie de Jong to provide the pass that resulted in the winning goal.

Gerard Martin: 6.0/10

Provided some good passes into the box whenever he got the opportunity.

Ronald Araujo: 8.0/10

The man of the hour, Ronald Araujo, came into the game late but made a big impact. Scored the crucial and decisive goal at the end of the game, and helped FC Barcelona win all three points.
