Barcelona explore the possibility of playing a pre-season friendly in Morocco | OneFootball

FC Barcelona continue to shape Hansi Flick’s pre-season programme. After an encouraging first training match of the summer against Europa, the squad travelled to England today to begin their training camp at St George’s Park.

The German coach will use the camp to continue building the squad’s physical condition and tactical understanding during a crucial period before the start of the new season.

Morocco emerges as potential additional stop

Away from the training pitch, Barcelona are continuing to finalise their pre-season schedule.

According to journalist Achraf Ben Ayad, the Blaugrana are considering arranging another friendly match in Morocco before the start of the La Liga season.

The proposed fixture would have both sporting and commercial significance. Barcelona enjoy a substantial fanbase across North Africa, and playing a match in Morocco would strengthen the club’s international presence while also generating additional revenue.

No details have yet emerged regarding the potential opponent or the proposed date, but both the sporting department and the club’s commercial team are working to find space in an already demanding schedule. Discussions will continue over the coming days.

Busy summer schedule continues

While the possibility of a trip to Morocco is explored, Flick’s side remain focused on the fixtures already confirmed.

The training camp in England will conclude with friendlies against Birmingham City on 31 July and Preston North End on 3 August.

Barcelona will then travel to Italy for the triangular tournament in Udine on 8 August, where they will face Nottingham Forest and Udinese.

Before the competitive season begins, the club will also host the Joan Gamper Trophy on 19 August against Al Ahly.

Fully focused

With pre-season preparations well underway and the squad gradually taking shape, Barcelona are working to ensure they are fully prepared for the opening La Liga fixture while continuing to explore opportunities to expand the club’s international profile during the summer.

The travelling party to England includes almost every available first-team player, along with a significant number of academy prospects.

Among the notable names are new signing Karim Adeyemi, Ronald Araujo, who has returned following the World Cup, and Fermin Lopez, who continues his recovery while remaining integrated with the group.

Frenkie de Jong and Marc-Andre ter Stegen have also travelled despite their respective situations. Meanwhile, Raphinha is scheduled to join the squad later this week after completing his holiday.
