Barcelona midfielder Fermin Lopez was the standout performer in the 5-0 victory over Como in the Joan Gamper Trophy, scoring twice and rightfully earning the Man of the Match award.
His energy, composure, and attacking instinct were on full display, leaving fans excited ahead of the new season, especially in the wake of all the transfer rumours that have put his future in doubt.
Speaking after the match, Fermin addressed the growing speculation about his future. Despite rumours suggesting a potential big-money move away from the club, the 22-year-old made it clear he is not going anywhere.
“It was a great game from the whole team, and it will be good for us. Hard work is non-negotiable, and the pressure is high, just like last year, when we did very well. We’ll have to keep it up,” he explained.

When asked directly about a possible multi-million-dollar sale, with Manchester United reportedly showing interest, Fermin responded with a smile and a strong message for the fans.
“I want to stay here. It’s my dream and I’ll stay. I’m happy to help the team. Many things have been said, but I’m going to continue defending these colours and working as hard as anyone. The cules can rest easy.”
Meanwhile, Fermin also spoke highly of Barcelona’s new arrivals, expressing confidence that they will strengthen the team for the challenges ahead. “The new players are doing very well and will help us a lot,” he said.
Lastly, he also took a moment to highlight the leadership of Marc-Andre ter Stegen, who continues as the club’s first captain.
“Marc is the first captain, we respect him a lot, what’s happened are external things,” he concluded.
