Leading members of the first-team ranks at Spanish football’s two biggest clubs have been nominated for the La Liga Goal of the Month award.

The pair in question? Fermín López, and Éder Militão.

In the case of the former, the midfielder’s moment of brilliance came during a meeting with Valencia on September 14th.

En route to a fine brace, Fermín drove home a superb left-footed strike from distance early in the 2nd-half.

Turning focus to Real Madrid, and Éder Militão’s surprise stunner came at the expense of Espanyol this past weekend.

Opening the scoring at the Santiago Bernabéu midway through the first-half, the Brazilian drove forward towards the visitors’ penalty area, before unleashing an unstoppable effort into the far top corner.

And rounding out the nominees for La Liga’s Goal of the Month for September is Rubén Vargas.

The Swiss international proved himself key in a 2-1 Sevilla triumph at Deportivo Alavés over the weekend, picking the ball up in his own half before embarking on a brilliant run and picking out the net with aplomb.
