A member of the midfield ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona is likely to miss the club’s upcoming showdown with Atlético Madrid.
The Blaugrana star in question? Marc Bernal.
Youngster Bernal is of course in the midst of a fresh spell on the sidelines at present.
After reestablishing himself as an important member of Hansi Flick’s engine room setup over the weeks prior, the 18-year-old suffered a setback last weekend.
As much came in the form of an ankle injury.
Bernal, in turn, was forced to sit out in midweek, as Barcelona slipped to a Champions League quarter-final first-leg defeat at the hands of Diego Simeone’s Atlético Madrid.
And if the latest word stemming from the media is anything to go by, then it is unlikely that the Spaniard will be back at the disposal of boss Flick for the tie’s return leg, either.
As per a report from Blaugrana insider Moises Llorens of ESPN:
‘It’s complicated for Bernal to be ready to play against Atléti on Tuesday in the Champions League. Complicated, but not impossible…’
