A member of the defensive ranks at La Liga champions Barcelona is expected to be unavailable for the club’s next two outings.

That’s according to Diario AS, who point towards Alejandro Balde as the player in question.

Left-back Balde for his part set alarm bells sounding across the Barcelona fanbase on Wednesday morning.

This came after the Blaugrana announced that the 21-year-old had suffered an injury setback in training:

‘Defender Alejandro Balde suffered a slight injury to his left hamstring during today’s training session. His availability will depend on how he progresses.’

So, just how long is Hansi Flick likely to be without his first-choice left-back?

As per a report from Diario AS, the expectation is that Balde will be sidelined for a period of around four weeks.

As much means the Spaniard is already considered as all but ruled out against both Valencia in Barca’s post-international break La Liga return, and Newcastle United in the club’s Champions League season opener.
