A summer departure from the reserve team ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona is reaping the rewards of his brave step.

That’s according to Diario Sport, who point towards Aleix Garrido as the player in question.

Youngster Garrido for his part made the painful decision to bring a close to his long-term stint on the books of Barcelona earlier this summer.

As much came with the 21-year-old having been aware of the long road ahead of him in carving out a place for himself in Hansi Flick’s engine room ranks.

Garrido, in turn, took up an offer on the part of La Liga 2 outfit Eibar.

And as alluded to above, the midfielder is already reaping the benefits of his call.

Garrido has featured from the off in all three of Eibar’s league outings to date, more than holding his own from his berth in the middle of the park.

The Spaniard, who has taken on the role of set-piece taker, has even managed a pair of assists, alongside passing accuracy of 92%.

Based on the early evidence, do not be at all surprised if Garrido finds himself plying his trade in the top tier of Spanish football before long…
