Barcelona to receive a ‘pinch’ from Real Betis transfer | OneFootball

Spanish champions Barcelona are set to receive a financial ‘pinch’ from Sergi Altimira’s imminent departure from La Liga rivals Real Betis.

This comes after the brass at the latter agreed on the terms of the midfielder’s sale to Portuguese heavyweights Sporting CP.

Altimira’s departure, according to A Bola (as cited by Diario Sport), is now all but assured, after Sporting agreed to fork over a sum in the region of €18 million, plus a potential €4 million in bonuses.

As alluded to above, though, the Verdiblancos are not the only ones set to benefit from the transfer.

So too will those in the boardroom at Barcelona, in line to bring in around €400,000 owing to Altimira’s time spent developing in the youth setup in Catalunya’s capital.

The talented midfielder spent seven years honing his craft on the books of the famed La Masia academy, between 2012 and 2019.
