Bayern Munich have agreed personal terms with Chelsea striker Nicolas Jackson as the German giants step up their pursuit of the Senegalese forward, according to BILD.

Jackson has made 81 appearances across all competitions for the Blues since joining from Villarreal, scoring 30 goals.

However, the 24-year-old has found himself down the pecking order at Stamford Bridge lately following the arrivals of Liam Delap and Joao Pedro.

Jackson has not featured for Chelsea since coming on as a substitute in July’s Club World Cup semi-final victory over Fluminense, and he is expected to depart West London this summer.

Having already reached an agreement on personal terms, the Bavarians are now expected to commence negotiations with Chelsea, who are keen to part ways with Jackson to make room for more attacking acquisitions.

Chelsea value Jackson at around £80 million, a figure that could be prohibitive, but there is a growing acceptance that the price may decrease as the transfer window deadline approaches.

The Blues are reportedly open to a loan deal with an obligation to buy.

Alongside Bayern, Aston Villa are also keen admirers of Jackson, with their interest largely driven by Unai Emery, who is keen to reunite with the striker after their time together at Villarreal.

Newcastle United have also been linked, as they aim to bring in a new striker to replace the potentially outgoing Alexander Isak.

Bayern stepping up their interest in Jackson comes after multiple attempts to secure a deal for Nick Woltemade, but Stuttgart have held firm in their desire to keep the striker.

Jackson is capable of playing multiple positions across the frontline and would provide much-needed depth for Vincent Kompany’s side.
