Bayern Munich select Chelsea’s Nicolas Jackson as final summer transfer target

Sport Bild reports that Bayern Munich have selected Chelsea striker Nicolas Jackson as their final summer transfer target. The Bundesliga record champions were known to be holding a front office summit meeting at the Säbener Straße today; during which the FCB higher ups were to select one last player to make a push for. The German tabloid claims that Bayern have agreed to personal terms with Jackson and will now push for a loan.
Whether Chelsea will play along remains to be seen. The Blues recently rebuffed Bayern’s attempts to acquire former RB Leipzig striker Christopher Nkunku on loan. The Bayern board remains disinterested in making another major summer purchase. It’s been confirmed by Bayern board members themselves that only loan deals are on the table for now. Jackson maintains a €50m estimated market value.
Bayern were already linked with Jackson earlier in the summer, but FCB board-member-for-sport Max Eberl specifically ruled out any pursuit of the 24-year-old. Matters have obviously changed now as the German giants begin the season with only 18-year-old Jonah Kusi-Asare available to back up Harry Kane.
Bayern currenly carry a 25-man-squad comprised of several youngsters in the a three-competition-season. The German giants have nevertheless won their first two competitive fixture, defeating VfB Stuttgart in the DFL Supercup and thumping RB Leipzig in their Bundesliga opener.
