Bayern Munich international watch: Saturday round-up as Jamal Musiala, Leroy Sané score | OneFootball

On Saturday evening, there was a game for four Bayern Munich players, with Joshua Kimmich, Jamal Musiala, Serge Gnabry, and Leroy Sané’s Germany side in UEFA Nations League action, as they hosted Bosnia & Herzegovina in Freiburg.

For the game itself, Julian Nageslmann started Kimmich and Musiala, with Gnabry and Sané on the bench – the outcome most people were expecting. As usual for the national team, Kimmich was deployed as a right-back, whilst Musiala started the game on the left hand side.

It would be the dream start for Germany - and for Bayern players - as Kimmich assisted Musiala in the first two minutes of the game. Kimmich's cross on the bounce had plenty of height on it, and Musiala leapt highest to direct it into the bottom corner. This was his fourth header of the season - a clear improvement in his game under Vincent Kompany.

Two more goals before half-time would see Germany head into the break with a very healthy and resounding four-goal lead over their Bosnian counterparts.

Around twelve or so minutes into the second-half, Germany made it 5-0, and with it - a flurry of changes occured. Musiala was replaced by Sané, whilst Gnabry replaced Wirtz, who had scored two of the goals.

Just nine minutes later, Sané would score the sixth goal of the game, for his first goal in a Germany shirt since he scored in a friendly against France in September of 2023.

Soon after, Kimmich rolled his ankle, and had to be withdrawn, in extremely concerning news from a Bayern point of view. Everything crossed that it is nothing serious.

Germany would add one more goal, to put the gloss on things and secure an absolutely emphatic 7-0 victory. Gnabry created a big chance in his cameo, but it was not converted. This win means that they have topped their group, with 13 points from five games - and will face a group runner up in the Nations League quarter finals that take place in March.

As a result, hopefully we will see Bayern players, particularly Kimmich (if he is even fit enough regardless), get some rest in the final game, as they travel to Budapest to play Hungary on Tuesday evening, with a 20:45 CET kick off.

Elsewhere, on Friday - Mathys Tel got five minutes off the bench for France U-21s, after being a late call up, whilst Adam Aznou recorded an assist off the bench for Morocco, during a late cameo in their 4-1 win over Gabon in Africa Cup of Nations qualifying.
