Is Jules Koundé a candidate for FC Bayern? Conflicting media reports surrounding the French national team player are causing confusion.

FC Bayern continues to be linked to numerous players for its defense. Most recently, Jules Koundé of FC Barcelona has surprisingly come into the spotlight. However, reports currently vary widely on just how serious Munich’s interest actually is.

The Spanish newspaper *Sport* reports that FC Bayern has already made contact with the French international’s entourage. According to the report, club officials want to gauge the 27-year-old’s situation and determine whether he would be open to a move to Munich in principle.

Now, however, a new report from Sky offers a completely different assessment. According to the report, Koundé is not currently a transfer target for FC Bayern. The pay-TV network states that there are neither talks nor negotiations between the Munich club and the player’s camp.

Koundé is under contract with FC Barcelona through 2030.

This means there are currently two conflicting accounts. While *Sport* reports initial contacts— and *BILD* had previously reported Bayern’s general interest— Sky rules out any concrete efforts by the record champions at this time.

Regardless, a transfer would be complicated in any case. Koundé extended his contract with FC Barcelona just last summer through 2030 and is considered an undisputed starter both under Hansi Flick and on the French national team.

In addition, FC Bayern would first have to sell other players, as the club has already invested around 100 million euros in guaranteed transfer fees for Nathaniel Brown and Ismael Saibari. Candidates for a departure include Joao Palhinha, Bryan Zaragoza, and Sacha Boey.
