Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain are gearing up for a high-stakes UEFA Champions League semifinal showdown, with just 180 minutes standing between them and a place in the final. While the two sides already faced off in the group stage, one pundit believes that chapter should be forgotten.

The Gunners booked their place in the semifinals after a commanding 2-1 win over Real Madrid in the second leg of their quarterfinal, sealing a dominant 5-1 aggregate victory.

PSG also entered the semifinals with a 5-1 advantage, but their path was far more dramatic—barely hanging on as the tie ended with a nervy 5-4 aggregate finish.

Will Arsenal rotate their squad?

Both teams have matches to take care of before their Champions League first leg on April 29. Speaking on “Match of the Day,” BBC’s Alan Shearer suggested Mikel Arteta might already be weighing his options ahead of Wednesday’s clash with Crystal Palace—before Arsenal can fully shift focus to PSG’s visit to the Emirates Stadium.

“I was actually slightly surprised they went in as strong as they did [on Sunday],” Shearer said. “But you’ve got to find that happy medium about not playing too much, but putting them in. They’ve also got a game or two before that as well. So I would imagine that there’ll be rotation in the next game or two.”

It will be interesting to see how Arteta lines up his starting 11, knowing he has no game this weekend leading up to his PSG clash.
