Bellingham boost for Real Madrid as midfielder fit for UCL opener | OneFootball

Real Madrid have named Jude Bellingham in their squad to take on Marseille in their Champions League opener.

Bellingham is yet to feature this season after undergoing shoulder surgery in July, an operation that was initially expected to rule out the England international for four months.

The 22-year-old has made an ahead-of-schedule recovery and has been named in the squad to face French side Marseille tomorrow evening.

The record 15-time winners begin their Champions League campaign against Marseille at the Bernabeu on Tuesday. Eduardo Camavinga also returns from injury to boost Xabi Alonso’s options in midfield.

The Spaniards are aiming to build on an impressive start under the new head coach. Los Blancos lead the La Liga title race after taking maximum points from their opening four games.

At the weekend, Kylian Mbappe and Arda Guler scored as Real Madrid won 2-1 at Real Sociedad, despite Dean Huijsen’s 32nd-minute red card.
