Beney scoops October’s Etihad Player of the Month | OneFootball

Congratulations to Iman Beney who has been named October’s Etihad Player of the Month!

The Switzerland international fought off fierce competition for the award from Aoba Fujino and Jade Rose with over 3000 votes cast following another fantastic period for Andrée Jeglertz’s side.

Since signing from Bsc Young Boys Frauen in the summer, Beney has adapted seamlessly to life at the Joie Stadium which was further complimented by her haul of two goals and two assists across October.

This has seen her play a variety of positions for the Blues with the teenager flourishing centrally, out wide on the right or as an inside forward of our front three.

Beney began the month coming off the bench against Arsenal to grab the euphoric winner in our 3-2 triumph over Arsenal.

After the Gunners had pegged us back twice, the Swiss international picked up Khadija ‘Bunny’ Shaw’s cutback before firing home to secure the victory over the European champions.

Following her excellent impact from the sidelines, she was rewarded with a place in the starting XI against Liverpool a week later and her lively performance from out wide saw her rewarded with our equaliser en route to an eventual 2-1 win.

But against Newcastle she turned provider, setting up Laura Coombs and Yui Hasegawa on Tyneside.

Since signing in preseason, Beney has totalled seven appearances for City so far while scoring two goals and registering three assists in what’s been an impressive start to her career in England.
