Benfica are set to renew Daniel Banjaqui’s contract, with the young right-back in line for more first-team opportunities following Alexander Bah’s injury.
He made his senior debut recently against Farense in the Taça de Portugal. According to Glorioso 1904, there is a preliminary agreement to extend his deal, with Benfica moving quickly amid outside interest.
Club figures regard the Seixal product as one of their standout prospects, and a former coach has praised him. The move reflects belief in his potential and a long-term future in Lisbon.
With Bah sidelined and Amar Dedic needing rotation, the under-17 world champion could get minutes under José Mourinho, who is monitoring his progress and may use him soon.
This season he has played 15 times for Benfica, seven in the Segunda Liga, four in the Youth League, three in the Liga Revelação and one in the Taça de Portugal. Across 838 minutes he has scored once. He is valued at one million euros and his current contract runs until June 2027.
