Celtic are set to make the trip to Dens Park on Sunday, where they will take on Steven Pressley’s Dundee side as the Hoops aim to secure their first victory in the City of Discovery this season – at the fourth attempt.

Ahead of Sunday’s game, it has been confirmed via the official Scottish FA website that Steven McLean will referee the encounter.

He will be supported by assistants Calum Spence and outgoing Scottish Tory MSP Douglas Ross, while Matthew MacDermid has been appointed as VAR, with Chris Graham assisting from Clydesdale House.

The match will mark the fourth time this season that McLean has overseen a Celtic game.

His previous appointments include the 3-1 defeat to Hearts at Tynecastle in October, the 3-1 loss to the Ibrox club in January, and the 2-2 draw with Hearts later that same month in Edinburgh.

For Dundee, it will also be the fourth occasion McLean has taken charge of one of their matches this season. His earlier appointments included the Dundee derby in August, a defeat to Hibernian in November, and their recent 3-2 victory over Aberdeen at Pittodrie.

Meanwhile, Benjamin Nygren and his Swedish teammates have qualified for this summer’s World Cup after their dramatic 3-2 victory Poland last night.

The Celtic midfielder played 81 minutes last night and assisted former Hoops defender Gustaf Lagerbielke for Graham Potter’s side’s second goal.

The Swede’s will now compete in Group F in USA, Canada and Mexico and will face Tunisia, Netherlands and Japan. It means Nygren will most likely come up against Sebastian Tounekti on the biggest stage of them all this summer.

Over at the Hill Dickinson Stadium, Kieran Tierney played the full 90 minutes in Scotland’s 1-0 defeat to Ivory Coast. Anthony Ralston was an unused substitute which could be a bonus for Celtic given he is Martin O’Neill’s only fit right-back currently.
