Michael Carrick and his players kick off the 2026/27 campaign against newly-promoted Hull City on Saturday 22 August. This meeting kicks off at 12:30 BST.

United’s clashes against Ipswich Town, Everton, Manchester City and Fulham have all received new dates.

The Red Devils will take on Ipswich, who have also returned to the Premier League after one season in the Championship, on 30 August. This game is set to start at 16:30 BST and will be broadcast on Sky Sports.

A week later, United have a date at the Hill Dickinson Stadium to face David Moyes’ Everton. This fixture has been given the 14:00 BST. Just like the Ipswich game, it will also be shown on Sky Sports.

United will be playing in the Champions League after this and then they will look forward to locking horns with cross-town rivals Manchester City on 13 September at Old Trafford.

Enzo Maresca will experience the Manchester derby for the first time as a manager, having stepped into the role vacated by Pep Guardiola.

It’s a Super Sunday showdown, kicking off at 16:30 BST.

United round off their pre-break schedule with a trip to Fulham on 20 September, 16:30 BST.

Transfer plans

United’s squad returns to training on Thursday with more departures than arrivals so far this window.

Casemiro, Jadon Sancho, Rasmus Hojlund, Tyrell Malacia and Andre Onana have all departed. As it stands, there has been no official signing, although Ederson is poised to be the first.

United have an agreement in place with Atalanta for Ederson. The transfer will get over the line imminently, with Brazil now out of the World Cup.

Having missed out on Elliot Anderson and Mateus Fernandes, United are now exploring moves for alternative midfield targets including Aurelien Tchouameni (Real Madrid), Alex Scott (Bournemouth), Andrey Santos (Chelsea) and Felix Nmecha (Borussia Dortmund).
