Boca’s window is focused on signing a top goalkeeper after Agustín Marchesín’s injury, and Gerónimo Rulli has emerged as a prime target. According to LaNumer12.com.ar, informal enquiries have been made, but Olympique de Marseille’s financial position and a UEFA restriction make a deal highly difficult.
Securing a keeper is a priority for the next semester, with Boca sounding out Rulli’s contractual situation. The former Estudiantes de La Plata player, who has extensive European experience, is firmly on their shortlist.
Any move is far from straightforward. Rulli is in his peak years and under contract with the French club until June 2027, which would require direct negotiations to unlock an exit.
Rulli is currently at the World Cup with Argentina.
Recent contacts with Marseille officials pointed to a complex scenario driven by factors beyond the player. A deep financial crisis inherited from the previous presidency has led to a UEFA sanction that prevents the club from adding reinforcements in this window.
Unable to register replacements, Marseille are intransigent about departures, especially of key figures such as their goalkeeper. For Boca, the path looks close to blocked in the short term.
Even so, the search continues, with Juan Musso and Álvaro Montero among the alternatives under consideration.
