Bojan Miovski has picked a good time to find his Rangers form | OneFootball

If there was one absolute positive from Rangers’ latest dismal European night, it was the continued form of Bojan Miovski.

In quite literally the past four days, Rangers fans have finally started seeing the Aberdeen Miovski and his goal in Hungary was a stunning example of what he can do.

A goalscorer

There was no doubt the guy is a goalscorer, a real striker and a talent.

You don’t score what he did for Aberdeen and for your country if you can’t play.

But having crashed and burned at Girona, Ibrox Noise was deeply concerned the weight of Rangers’ shirt would be too heavy.

The demands of Govan are a tad higher than Pittodrie.

And until the trip to Killie, Miovski was under serious fire. He’d been very poor and unable to shine in any way.

But that brilliant double in Ayrshire followed by a bicycle kick in Budapest put him to three goals in two matches and a sudden capture of form.

Whether there was a hint of offside about the goal doesn’t matter, Miovski, like any striker, feeds off confidence.

And in two simple matches the Macedonian (apparently they hate being called North Macedonia) striker has found his feet and showed why Rangers paid £5M for him.

Yes, let’s not forget this is a £5M signing – £2.5M up front, then £2.5M added on through clauses and addons.

Loan

This is why we wanted it to be a loan with option – let him prove himself in the shirt first then sign him permanently if he impressed.

Well, he hasn’t impressed. Until now.

Lord knows Rangers need a striker who can score, and Miovski may just have played himself into contention at last.

Better late than never.
