Leeds United have fresh bookmaker backing to beat the drop with seven matches left, as focus returns to the FA Cup after the international break. According to yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk, bookmakers envisage a late-season last laugh for the Whites.
Leeds visit West Ham in an FA Cup quarter-final at the London Stadium on Sunday 5 April, kick-off 4.30pm. League action then resumes on the second Monday in April when Daniel Farke’s side travel to Manchester United for an 8pm start at Old Trafford.
For the cup tie, West Ham are narrow favourites at 29-20, with Leeds priced at 9-5 and the draw at 13-5. To qualify, the Irons are 4-5 and Leeds are evens.
Despite that, the relegation markets still point to Leeds staying up, while West Ham are just about viewed as likely to go down. The Irons sit in the Premier League’s third and final relegation place, four points behind 15th-placed Leeds.
In what is seen as a four-way fight to avoid third-bottom, West Ham are third favourites for relegation at a best-priced 5-4, with Burnley and Wolves both 1-200 and deemed virtually down. Tottenham’s price continues to shorten, as short as 5-4 with some firms and as big as 9-5 with others, shorter than Nottingham Forest and Leeds.
Forest, fresh from a 3-0 win at Tottenham, are now as big as 13-2 to be relegated, with Leeds out to a best-priced 8-1. There is then a gap to Crystal Palace at 200-1, and a bigger one to Sunderland and Brighton at 500s.
