Leonardo Jardim, the Portuguese head coach of Cruzeiro, was full of praise for former DR Congo international Yannick Bolasie in remarks given to the Brazilian press.

"Bolasie is important for the group because he unites the squad and has an excellent relationship with everyone, but he doesn’t play just because of his rapport with the players," said the former AS Monaco coach.

"Bolasie could win back a few balls up front, and if we got a free kick or something similar, Bolasie could help us out because he’s a strong player," he added.

A fine tribute to the former DR Congo international, who has rediscovered the joy of playing after moving to Brazil.

Bolasie’s record with Cruzeiro

The Lyon native joined Cruzeiro at the start of the year as a free agent after his contract with Criciúma EC ended. He has featured in 27 matches for Cabuloso, scoring 4 goals and providing 3 assists.
