Flamengo are in strong financial health, but sponsor BRB has cut 2026 sponsorship spend by 60 per cent, which could affect the club.
According to the Federal District government's official gazette, the bank reduced total sponsorship investment from R$ 118.6 million in 2025 to R$ 50 million this year. The extent of any impact on Flamengo remains unclear.
Flamengo receive R$ 25 million per year from BRB, and that contract ends in March. The bank and the club also have the Banco da Nação, which runs until 2029 and pays R$ 15 million per year. If the shirt deal is not renewed, the Banco da Nação payment would rise to R$ 25 million.
BRB is conducting a technical and strategic review of all sponsorship contracts, including sports deals, as part of ongoing prudent resource management and alignment with its guidelines. Any decisions on whether to continue, adjust or end contracts will be communicated in due course with transparency.
The bank is also studying ways to strengthen and restructure the partnership that created Nação BRB FLA, including the possibility of turning it into an independent company to improve efficiency, scale and profitability.
BRB have backed Flamengo since 2020 and previously held the main shirt space. Since 2024, after a betting agreement took that prime slot, the bank's logo has been on the shoulder.
