The 20-year-old striker is highly rated and joins the Seagulls after leaving Real Madrid earlier this summer.

Brighton boss Dario Vidosic said, “We’re pleased to have Carla with us. She has a good pedigree at Real Madrid and is looking forward to experiencing a new challenge in the WSL.

“Carla will need time to settle in but we’re looking forward to watching her progress and develop with us.”

She becomes Brighton’s fourth signing of the summer transfer window as they look to build on their fifth-place finish last term.

Camacho will hope she can break into the senior Spain squad during her time at Brighton, with an eye on future tournaments such as the 2027 Women’s World Cup and Euro 2029.

Despite losing to England in the final of Euro 2025, betting sites have Spain as 5/2 favourites to win the competition in 2029.

Who is new Brighton Women signing Carla Camacho?

New Brighton Women signing Carla Camacho leaves Spain after her contract with Real Madrid ended earlier this summer.

She began her career in the Orcasitas youth system before joining Atletico Madrid in 2012 at the age of seven.

In 2020, she switched to Real Madrid, where was promoted to the first team in 2023.

Camacho made 11 appearances for Real Madrid, scoring two goals across the Spanish top-flight and Champions League.

The 20-year-old won the Golden Boot at the 2022 Women’s U17 championship.

She was also part of the Spain squad that won the U17 Women’s World Cup, before also winning the Women’s U19 Championship.

Brighton’s statement insisted Camacho “will need time to settle” but the Seagulls will hope they have found a gem on their hands.

Who else have Brighton Women signed this summer?

Perhaps the headline signing for Brighton Women this summer is goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie from Paris FC.

Nnadozie joins the club off the back of winning the Women’s African Cup of Nations for Nigeria.

The Seagulls have also signed Japanese international defender Moeka Minami from Roma and Colombian left-back Manuela Vanegas.

Despite featuring for Colombia in past tournaments, Vanegas was not part of the squad that lost to Brazil in the Copa America Femenina final on Saturday.

When does Brighton’s 2025-26 Women’s Super League season begin?

Brighton Women begin their 2025-26 Women’s Super League season against Aston Villa on Sunday, September 7th.

The Seagulls also face Manchester City, West Ham and Everton in their opening month of the campaign.
