Cafu says Neymar is the standout player of this century, rating his compatriot above Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.

"In my view, Neymar is better than Messi. It’s just that perhaps Messi’s commitment is different. Looking at this latest generation, Neymar is superior to everyone else. Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, Mbappé..." he said on Brazilian podcast PodPah TV.

"He has better technical ability and more options. He’s even better than those two (Messi and CR7, ed.). Of course, in terms of commitment, I’d pick Cristiano Ronaldo."

For 15 years, the Messi and Ronaldo rivalry has dominated the greatest-of-all-time debate. Messi owns eight Ballon d'Or awards, Ronaldo has five and a goal tally approaching 1,000.

The former Roma and Milan full-back offered his verdict during the show, and his comments quickly went viral.
