Canzi: This is a crucial spell for our season | OneFootball

With the last international break of 2025 behind them, the Juventus Women’s First Team are back in action with a game away against Roma. 

The Serie A Women Matchday 8 match against the Giallorosse is on Saturday, 6 December, at 14:30 CET.

Massimiliano Canzi previewed the match in the capital.

THE NEXT SET OF MATCHES

“The series of matches that we ended with the victory against Fiorentina was positive. We are very happy with what we have done, and now another spell begins that will be just as crucial for our season. We have five matches to play in 15 days, and we are ready. We have our entire squad available, which allows us to give more players minutes on the pitch.”

THE CHALLENGE AGAINST ROMA

"We certainly didn't have as much time as we would have liked to prepare for a match like this. But the same goes for our opponents; when you coach teams of this calibre, it's normal for this to happen.

"The importance of the game with Roma speaks for itself, they are five points ahead of us and have scored nine more goals, which is no small feat. We respect them, they are doing very well in the league. We know it will be a difficult match in which they are the favourites. The Serie A Women's Cup final we won was a different sort of match, whereas after tomorrow, there will still be many matches to play. The five-point gap is important in any case, and it's certainly a more decisive match for us than for them. That said, I lead a group of great players who rarely make mistakes in games like this, so I'm very confident that we'll play very well.”

MORE RECOGNITION FOR GIRELLI

Forward Cristiana Girelli was named in 25th place in The Guardian's list of the Top 100 Female Footballers of 2025, which Canzi commented on.

“We know Cristiana [Girelli] very well, and I had the good fortune and honour of coaching her in what was, to all intents and purposes, her best season to date. She is a player who, in my opinion still has a lot to offer. I am delighted for her and I am certain that she can continue to make a valuable contribution.”
