Casemiro has already announced that he will leave Manchester United once his contract expires at the end of this season. The Red Devils are expected to invest heavily in midfield this summer, and they are already looking for a fresh face to replace the Brazilian.
Casemiro is also one of the highest earners at Old Trafford, and his departure will help the club free up their wage bill. With INEOS deploying several cost-cutting measures at the Theatre of Dreams, the financial aspect of the move also suits the Premier League giants.
Casemiro arrived at United in the summer of 2022 from Real Madrid, and took no time to settle at the Theatre of Dreams. He won the EFL Cup in his debut season and also helped the Red Devils finish third in the Premier League table.
However, the veteran midfielder endured a difficult second campaign, as evidenced by his absence from the squad for the FA Cup final against Manchester City, which United won 2-1. While his struggles continued last season as well, Casemiro managed to turn things around this year.
The Brazilian has registered 22 appearances across competitions this season, all but three of which were starts. United have looked more solid with the 33 year old on the pitch, while he has also contributed four goals and one assist.

Casemiro started both of Michael Carrick’s first two games in charge and was instrumental in registering wins against City and Arsenal. While his experience is pivotal to the team at the moment, the player will turn 34 next month, so United’s decision to look to the future is understandable.
A recent report relayed by The Peoples Person states that the Red Devils are confident of signing Nottingham Forest’s Elliot Anderson to replace the Brazilian. Meanwhile, it appears that Casemiro will have the chance to move to the MLS for his next adventure.
According to AS, as cited by Fichajes, Los Angeles Galaxy are planning a Bosman move for Casemiro this summer. The MLS club is enticed by the player’s experience and consider him the ideal addition to their squad.
Meanwhile, the Brazilian is reportedly warming up to the prospect of playing in the USA, as he wants to experience an ambitious league that is physically less demanding. The Western Conference club’s sporting project as well as California’s lifestyle are an attractive proposition for the veteran.
The report adds that while there have been preliminary contacts between LA Galaxy and Casemiro, no agreement has been reached yet. The MLS side are aware that they need to present the player with a lucrative financial package as well as a key role in the team to convince him to make the move.
For now, the Brazilian is expected to stay focused on his remaining months at United, as he aims for a strong end to his tenure at Old Trafford.
Casemiro won fans over during his stay at United so far, and there are no doubts that he will be remembered fondly at the Theatre of Dreams. INEOS must now ensure that they sign an able replacement for the Brazilian this summer.
