Manchester United’s Casemiro has been regularly hitting the headlines this season for his positive displays.
It was thought that this would certainly be Casemiro’s last season at Old Trafford after the ending of his current deal this summer.
Nonetheless, the Brazilian veteran has had a career renaissance in 2025, making himself one of the first names on Ruben Amorim’s team sheet.
What’s more, he has also continued this form for his national side, where he is now captain of the Brazil team and will lead his side out to the World Cup in the summer.
As a result, it has been suggested that United may offer him a new deal on a reduced salary to stay on at the club beyond 2026.
His fantastic season continued over the weekend as he scored for Brazil in their 2-0 win over Senegal.
In an interview after Brazil’s friendly win, Defensa Central carry comments from the United midfielder.
He was reportedly asked about his former club and his answer was quite a shocking one.
Casemiro was asked to comment on Real Madrid’s recent slump in form and he retorted, “I don’t watch them. I have too many things to worry about at Manchester United to worry about Real Madrid.”
The 33 year old did clarify his comments by stating, “everyone knows how much I love the club and the city, but I’m not worried about Madrid, I’m much more concerned about United.”
It is natural that the Brazilian would focus more on the club he is currently paid to be at but he has made no secret of his love for Manchester United and his joy at being part of the club.
Interestingly, he is not the only former Real Madrid star to express his love for United. Raphael Varane also hinted in the past that he preferred life at Old Trafford to the Bernabeu.
