The CBF has published the full VAR audio and analysis behind the decision not to send off São Paulo midfielder Bobadilla for an alleged obscene gesture during a goal celebration in the derby at Neo Química Arena on Sunday night.

The incident came amid São Paulo’s celebrations, and the match finished 3-2 to Corinthians.

In the footage, referee Anderson Daronco judges there was no breach of the Laws, viewing the movement as typical among South American players. The VAR team highlight there was no contact with his genitals and that the action could be read as a rallying gesture. They agree no card is required and restart.

Despite the victory, Corinthians protested the call and executive Marcelo Paz will seek explanations from the CBF.

The Parque São Jorge club have recently had two players dismissed for similar gestures in the Brasileirão. In round 9 against Fluminense, midfielder Allan was shown red for grabbing his genitals and shaking them towards an opponent. Days later, in round 11 against Palmeiras, André was sent off for repeating the gesture towards Flaco López.
