CD Castellón loan Nick Markanich to Houston Dynamo until 2026 | OneFootball

CD Castellón have confirmed the departure of Nick Markanich, who joins Houston Dynamo on loan until 31 December 2026, returning to the United States and the MLS.

According to Matteo Moretto, team-mate Kenneth Mamah will return to Turkish football, with Vanspor FK lined up as his next destination.

Markanich signed in August 2024, then joined the squad in the winter window. He arrived from Charleston Battery in the second tier, where he produced prolific scoring numbers.

After starring for Northern Illinois, he was drafted by FC Cincinnati and featured for both their first team and B side. Two seasons with Charleston Battery followed before his move to Europe. He turned 26 in December and remains under contract at Castellón until June 2027.

For Castellón he has played 25 competitive matches and scored two goals, both last season, including the strike that sealed survival against Eldense.

Mamah, 27, is close to completing his exit. He impressed early last season before injury. That campaign he scored four times in 24 games, this term he has 14 appearances and one goal at Cultural Leonesa. The hard-working wide player has spells from Lucera Calcio and Città di Varese to Goztepe in Türkiye, overcoming two serious injuries.
