As per The Herald, the Swiss international is believed to be pushing for a loan move away from Germany in order to get playing time, with an eye on securing a place in Murat Yakin’s plans ahead of the World Cup this summer.
The 22-year-old was handed a rare starting role in Frankfurt’s recent 3–2 loss to Stuttgart, marking his first appearance in the starting XI since before Christmas.
Despite being tied to the Bundesliga side on a long-term contract running until 2029, Amenda has found minutes difficult to come by this season, prompting interest from a number of European clubs including Mainz, Lorient, Nice, Torino and struggling La Liga outfit Valencia, all exploring a short-term deal.
Frankfurt invested heavily to bring the defender in from Young Boys for a reported £7.8 million, yet his involvement has been limited, accumulating only a handful of league and Champions League appearances.
With a huge Premiership showdown against Hearts looming at Tynecastle next Sunday, interim manager Martin O’Neill has hinted that recruitment discussions are advancing.
While speculation linking the club with West Ham forward Callum Wilson has been downplayed internally, Celtic continue to assess attacking options – including Hibernian striker Kieron Bowie – alongside reinforcements for the right side of defence as cover for the sidelined Cameron Carter-Vickers.
In other news. Ben Summers has completed a loan switch from Celtic to Ayr United for the remainder of the campaign, with the Championship side strengthening their midfield options ahead of the promotion run-in.

The midfielder was handed his first-team breakthrough by Ange Postecoglou in April 2023 and has since gained experience through successive loan spells, spending last season with Dunfermline Athletic before moving to Admira Wacker in Austria for the current campaign.
Having been unable to force his way into Celtic’s matchday squads since returning in the summer, the Scotland Under-21 international – capped five times at that level – is expected to reunite with former Hoops captain Scott Brown at Somerset Park as Ayr aim to secure a place in the Premiership.

Celtic and Ayr already operate a formal partnership that has seen youngsters Jude Bonnar and Kyle Ure feature regularly in the Championship this season, with Ure in particular earning plaudits for his performances.

Although there remains one available slot within the co-operation framework, Summers’ transfer will be completed independently as a standard loan agreement rather than under the existing development arrangement.
