Celtic are reportedly in talks over the signing of £7m rated winger Sondre Ørjasæter. The Scottish Champions have held discussions with Sarpsborg 08 over a possible deal as Brendan Rodgers’ side look to strengthen in the wide areas.
Sky Sports are reporting that Celtic have been in contact with the Norwegian side over a deal with Celtic first making contact last month.
Ørjasæter made 32 appearances for his club last season (2024) and scored 6 goals while assisting 7 times. Transfermarkt rate the player at around €6m and with two years left on his current deal, it would be the prime time for his club to consider cashing in on the star.
Celtic face competition from Ligue 1 and Serie A for the player’s signature with Fiorentina, Parma and Nice keen on signing the player that was signed for €700k last year.
Celtic face Ross County on Saturday m afternoon but will be without Kühn, Maeda and James Forrest through injury with Luis Palma missing out due to a family bereavement.
Celtic are expected to allow Palma to leave the club this January if adequate replacements can be signed. The Honduran has struggled for regular game time this season but was heavily involved in the build up of the second goal in the win over United.
Elsewhere, Norwegian starlet Odin Thiago Holm is expected to depart Celtic in the coming days to join LAFC on a loan deal until the end of the season. Celtic are keen to get the player playing regular first team football as he looks to earn a place in Brendan’s future plans.
