Chelsea rocked by major Cole Palmer injury blow

Chelsea have been dealt serious setback with reports suggesting Cole Palmer's injury is far worse than initially expected.

Extended absence looming

According to Chelsea News, the England international may face up to 6 week on the sidelines after suffering muscle tear.

This would rule him out of 6 Premier League fixtures & 3 Champions league clashes leaving Enzo Maresca's side short of firepower.

How the injury unfolded

Palmer who finished 8th in the 2025 Ballon d'Or ranking, first pulled up during warm up before the clash with West Ham on 22 August.

Despite medical clearance to return, he featured against Brentford & Bayern Munich only to aggravate the issue in the Man United match.

Palmer may require surgery though Chelsea hope to avoid that outcome. Maresca admitted uncertainty in his press conference stating the medical team hadn't confirmed whether an operation would be necessary.
