Chelsea star Cole Palmer has this week turned heads across the Spanish football landscape.

This comes after the youngster provided his take on the debate surrounding world football’s best player.

Palmer is for his part fresh off scooping a deserved award for his endeavours in his debut season in the colours of Chelsea.

After lighting up English football on his way to 27 goals and 15 assists in 48 appearances across all competitions, the former Manchester City talent was named PFA Young Player of the Year.

Palmer, in turn, has since picked up his prize, with as much having been followed by a series of interviews with outlets from across the continent.

And it was during one such exchange that Palmer piqued attentions in Madrid.

Speaking during a quick-fire interview with Goal, the England international was asked for take on the best player in the world debate.

And Palmer, first, went on to name two members of Carlo Ancelotti’s Real Madrid squad:

“Either Vini or Mbappé.”

Urged to narrow his answer to just one name, the 22-year-old then concluded:

“Mbappé”
