Chelsea star ruled out for remainder of the season | OneFootball

Chelsea interim manager Calum McFarlane has confirmed that Estevao will miss the remainder of the season through injury. 

The 19-year-old suffered a hamstring injury during Chelsea’s 1-0 defeat to Manchester United, with the severity of the injury now placing his World Cup dreams in serious doubt.

However, there was some form of encouragement for Blues fans, with McFarlane revealing that both Joao Pedro and Cole Palmer have returned to training after missing the midweek loss to Brighton. 

“Estevao unfortunately won’t play for us this season,” he said. “He is out for a period of time.

“Joao [Pedro] and Cole [Palmer] trained but they are in a good place. We don’t know but we will make a call after that.”

McFarlane’s first job in his second spell as interim manager is to guide Chelsea to a fourth FA Cup final in six years by beating Leeds United this weekend.
