Cherki Gets 9, Foden With 8.5 | Manchester City Players Rated In Impressive Win Vs Sunderland

Manchester City welcomed Sunderland at the Etihad Stadium earlier today as they hoped to secure a good result at home in the Premier League. Pep Guardiola’s men made a bright start to the game and got their noses ahead in the 31st minute thanks to Ruben Dias’ great strike. Josko Gvardiol doubled his team’s advantage just four minutes later as Man City went into the half-time break 2-0 up on the scoreline.
Phil Foden killed the game off in the 65th minute before Luke O’Nian was sent off by the referee in injury time. The Mancunian giants ended up cruising to an impressive 3-0 win in front of their home fans.
Let’s take a look at how each Manchester City player fared during the clash against Sunderland.
He made one solid save at the back and did enough to keep a clean sheet.
RB: Matheus Nunes – 7.5/10
Nunes earned possession back twice and made one good run with the ball on the right flank.
CB: Ruben Dias – 8/10
He put his foot through the ball when needed and scored the opener with a great strike in the 31st minute.
CB: Josko Gvardiol – 8/10
Gvardiol cleared the danger when he could and managed to score his side’s second goal in the 35th minute.

LB: Nico O’Reilly – 8/10
He performed his defensive duties well and made one good run with the ball.
CM: Phil Foden – 8.5/10
Foden was a real menace in the final third and has got a goal and an assist to show for his efforts.
CM: Nico Gonzalez – 7/10
He was a positive influence at both ends of the field.
CM: Bernardo Silva – 6.5/10
Silva worked his socks off in the middle of the park and was replaced in the 81st minute.
RW: Rayan Cherki – 9/10
Cherki caused all sorts of chaos in and around the opponent’s penalty area and has got a couple of assists to his name.
ST: Erling Haaland – 7/10
He was a real handful for the opposition defenders, but there was no goal for him.
LW: Jeremy Doku – 8/10
Doku caused a lot of headaches for his marker and did everything but score today.
Substitutes:
ST: Omar Marmoush – 6/10
His impact on the game was minimal.
CM: Tijjani Reijnders – 6/10
Reijnders struggled to get into the flow of the game.
