With the 2025 summer transfer window now closed, here is a round-up of all of City’s Academy players out on loan in 2025/26 and looking to gain valuable senior experience.
Oliver Whatmuff
The 17-year-old goalkeeper joined National League outfit Rochdale on a season-long loan in July, which gave him plenty of time to settle into the team before the campaign began.
It’s Whatmuff’s first loan spell and therefore his first taste of life in senior football, which he’s already taking in his stride.
At the time of writing, he’s already made six league appearances and has kept four clean sheets and conceded just two goals to help his team win all six of the matches he’s featured in.
Max Alleyne
After a fantastic season helping City win the Premier League 2 league phase and title as well as reaching the quarter-finals of the prestigious UEFA Youth League, Max Alleyne is also on his first loan outing.
The 20-year-old centre-back has joined Championship side Watford for the season and will be looking to utilise his power, eye for a pass and ability to read play in one of the most testing leagues in the European game.
It’s been a testing start for the Hornets. Alleyne has featured in two draws and one defeat in the league and played the entirety of Watford’s EFL Trophy defeat to Norwich.
But all matches and moments will undoubtedly prove to be invaluable for the Academy prospect over the next nine months.
Finley Burns
For 2025/26, defender Finley Burns will spend the campaign continuing to develop his craft with League One side Reading.
He has quickly established himself in the backline, having played every minute for The Royals in the league and they find themselves 17th after six games.
It is the 22-year-old’s fourth loan spell. He’s previously spent time at Swansea City, Stevenage and, most recently, Hull City.
Tomas Galvez
After an impressive loan spell with Keuken Kampion Divisie outfit Cambuur in 2024/25, Finland international Tomas Galvez has returned to the Dutch side for the current campaign.
A quick, strong and technical left-back, Galvez has seen his game go from strength to strength in recent seasons.
And the start of 2025/26 is no different. The 20-year-old and Cambuur have already had a strong start to the campaign, with Galvez featuring in all five league games at the time of writing, which includes three wins, one draw and one defeat.
Lakyle Samuel
Another defender who has moved to the capital for his first loan spell, Lakyle Samuel has joined League Two side Bromley on a season-long loan.
The 19-year-old played an integral role in City’s PL2 title triumph last season, figuring in all but one league fixture.
Now, the right-back will be looking to use his attacking threat, defensive capabilities and excellent ability to read play with Bromley.
Jahmai Simpson-Pusey
Having skippered City’s Elite Development Squad to Premier League 2 success last season, Jahmai Simpson-Pusey has made the loan move to Scottish side Celtic for the current campaign.
The 19-year-old defender, who made his senior debut for Pep Guardiola in 2024/25, will be looking to take everything he has learnt at City to Celtic Park.
Yet to make an appearance for Brendan Rodgers’ side, Simpson-Pusey will undoubtedly be ready to take his first loan spell head on when given the chance.
Mahamadou Susoho
Versatile midfielder Mahamadou Susoho, who has also been seen operating in the back line, has joined Scottish Premiership side Livingston on loan.
His first taste of senior football saw him make his senior debut for City before he joined Peterborough on loan last season.
Susoho went on to help the Posh win the EFL Trophy against Birmingham City at Wembley. And will be looking to play a key role in Livingston’s side throughout the campaign.
Will Dickson
After a first taste of senior football at Motherwell last season, Will Dickson will now experience his maiden loan spell in English football after he joined Chesterfield just before deadline day.
The forward made seven appearances for the Scottish side last season and will be striving to tally more senior minutes with League Two side Chesterfield.
Dickson made his League Two debut as a late substitute in Chesterfield’s narrow 1-0 defeat to Walsall as he continues to integrate into the squad.
Divin Mubama
City’s top goal scorer in the Premier League 2 last season, Divin Mubama will be looking to emulate his eye for goal in the Championship.
The number nine has joined Stoke City on a season-long loan and is already playing a key role in their campaign.
In their first two games, Mubama got in on the action, scoring one in each game, showing his impressive off-the-ball press, striking ability and work ethic.
The 20-year-old looks set to have a busy season with him also gaining international minutes for England's Under-21s.
Joel Ndala
Also tallying minutes in the Championship is Joel Ndala, who has joined Hull City in his first season-long loan.
The 19-year-old winger had two separate loan spells last season, with PSV and Nottingham Forest.
The skilful, versatile forward with a terrific change of pace has made a strong start to life with The Tigers and will be an exciting player to watch as he continues his development.
Everyone at Manchester City would like to wish all of our Academy players the very best of luck on their respective loan spells.
