Crystal Palace will aim to build on their impressive midweek win when they welcome Brentford to Selhurst Park in the Premier League tomorrow.
Both sides head into the fixture level on points and full of confidence after earning wins against Liverpool in different competitions within a week.
Palace cruised to a 3-0 win at Anfield in the League Cup, while Brentford defeated Liverpool 3-2 in the league last weekend.
Oliver Glasner’s men were at their ruthless best in midweek, with Ismaila Sarr scoring twice before Yeremy Pino sealed a commanding victory.
The result not only secured a second consecutive quarter-final appearance for Palace but also reminded observers of their attacking depth and tactical maturity.
However, domestic consistency remains a challenge. Palace have lost two of their last three league games, including a narrow 1-0 defeat at Arsenal last weekend, and currently sit 10th in the standings.
They remain unbeaten at Selhurst Park this season, although three of those four home fixtures have ended in draws – something Glasner will want to address.
Brentford have also found their stride after a rocky start to the campaign.
The Bees followed up their league triumph over Liverpool with a dominant 5-0 win at Grimsby Town in the League Cup, booking their place in the last eight for the fourth time in six years.
Manager Keith Andrews praised his side’s professionalism and focus, with several fringe players stepping up to maintain the team’s positive momentum.
Brentford have built a reputation for efficiency at both ends of the pitch, relying on organisation and a set-piece threat that has produced more goals from throw-ins than any other Premier League team.
The Bees did the double over Palace last season, winning 2-1 home and away, and will hope to extend that dominance against a side they have beaten only twice in eight top-flight meetings.
Palace’s only recent win in this fixture came in December 2023, when they triumphed 3-1 at Selhurst Park.
Both clubs have proven they can rise to the occasion against elite opposition, but Saturday’s contest will test which one can sustain that form in the league.
Palace will lean on their unbeaten home run and attacking pace, while Brentford’s aerial strength and discipline could again prove decisive.
