Inter Milan wingback Carlos Augusto must serve a one-game suspension in the upcoming Serie A showdown against Roma.
According to FCInterNews, the Brazilian star will not be at Cristian Chivu’s disposal for Inter’s next league fixture.
Carlos Augusto got booked in Inter’s disappointing 1-1 draw at Fiorentina last Sunday.
Therefore, he has now accumulated five yellow cards, meaning he will not be available for selection after the international break.
Augusto’s suspension was the last thing Cristian Chivu needed after losing Alessandro Bastoni to injury.
Indeed, the former Monza defender filled the Italian center-back’s shoes in the Nerazzurri’s last two Serie A matches.
Inter and Roma will face off against each other at San Siro on Easter Sunday.
However, Chivu will not be able to count on Augusto, who must serve a one-game ban in Serie A.
On the bright side, Bastoni is on the verge of recovery and could feature for Italy in Thursday’s clash against Northern Ireland.
Indeed, Gennaro Gattuso is hoping to have the 26-year-old available for Italy’s crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying playoff tie.
Therefore, it’s only reasonable to assume that Bastoni will be fit for Inter’s showdown against Roma.
