Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim has named his starting line-up for tonight’s Premier League clash against Newcastle United at Old Trafford.
The Red Devils have picked up just three points from their last five league games and will be aiming to end the year on a good note with a victory over the Magpies.
Ahead of the encounter, Amorim has made four changes to the starting XI.
Andre Onana continues in goal for the Red Devils. He is making his 57th straight appearance in the Premier League tonight.
In the backline, there is a solitary change with Leny Yoro making way for Matthijs de Ligt as part of the manager’s rotation plan.
De Ligt will partner Harry Maguire and Lisandro Martinez in the central defensive department.
Noussair Mazraoui and Diogo Dalot have been picked to start in the right and left wing-back positions respectively against the Magpies.
There is an enforced change in defensive midfield with Manuel Ugarte suspended. Casemiro has got the nod to start from the number six position.
Kobbie Mainoo has been given a breather after a below-par performance against Wolverhampton Wanderers. Christian Eriksen replaces him.
Amad Diallo has a new partner in Joshua Zirkzee in the attacking midfield department with Bruno Fernandes suspended for the league game.
Rasmus Hojlund will lead the line for the Red Devils against Eddie Howe’s side.
United are nine points behind a potential Champions League spot in fifth and tonight’s game is a must-win.
It won’t be an easy challenge and they need to nullify Alexander Isak’s scoring threat to come on top in the contest.
Confirmed Man Utd line-up (3-4-2-1) vs Newcastle: Onana; De Ligt, Maguire, Martinez; Mazraoui, Casemiro, Eriksen, Dalot; Diallo, Zirkzee; Hojlund.
