Antonio Conte says Leonardo Spinazzola and Billy Gilmour did not suffer muscle injuries, but ‘inflammations in the pubic area’, so they must be assessed ahead of tomorrow’s Champions League game against Eintracht Frankfurt.

Conte provided injury updates on Gilmour and Spinazzola, who had suffered injuries in a 0-0 draw against Como on Saturday.

“Those weren’t muscle problems, but inflammations in the pubic area. It’s up to the medical staff to make the proper evaluations. When you play every three days, fatigue changes everything. At the start of this season, we’ve played many matches in less-than-ideal conditions, and we’ve handled ourselves very well. By winning tomorrow, we have a chance to get back on track despite difficulties. I’ve been pointing out since the beginning of the year, such as the need for the new players to adapt.”

Napoli will surely be without the injured Alex Meret, Romelu Lukaku and Kevin De Bruyne tomorrow, while Lorenzo Lucca is suspended.
